We are Boulder's catering company — family-run, locally rooted, and committed to one thing: making every client a guest at their own successful event.

Our story

Dave and Dan founded A Spice of Life in 1987 with a conviction that Boulder deserved a catering company built on real relationships, local ingredients, and genuine hospitality. The menu would change. The commitment would not.

Becky Davis and Penni Walsh carry that forward today. Same family spirit. Same Boulder roots. Still sourcing locally, still building menus around what each client actually needs, still treating every event as if it were their own.

Our team

Becky Davis — Owner

Becky leads A Spice of Life with the same energy and care she brings to every event. Her relationships with clients, vendors, and the broader Boulder community are the foundation the business runs on.

Penni Walsh — Co-owner

Penni co-owns and co-leads A Spice of Life alongside Becky, bringing decades of operational experience and a deep commitment to the company's quality standards.

Michael Poompan — Executive Chef

Michael leads our kitchen team, bringing creativity and precision to every menu. His focus on local and sustainable sourcing reflects the values A Spice of Life was built on.
